About the event
Cutting Days is a trade fair organized by Dormer Pramet, with this year marking the sixth anniversary since the event was launched. Our production unit in Šumperk, Czech Republic, will welcome visitors from all over the world during the event.
This year we are expecting a record-breaking number of visitors and a packed program of activities, which is why Cutting Days 2017 has the motto EXPERIENCE MORE.
Cutting Days will be of significant interest to metalworking-based companies across the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries, as well as anyone with a connection to Dormer Pramet globally.
The biggest attraction at Cutting Days will be the official opening of a brand new training, development and research center – the EXPERIENCE CENTER. Also, visitors will be able to take the opportunity to visit a Czech Republic technical marvel: the pumped storage power plant Dlouhé Stráně.

TECHNICAL PROGRAM
Production tour
- 12 times a day – every 30 minutes; registration at Tour Point required
- Tour length = 25 minutes
Tour of the EXPERIENCE CENTER and machining demonstrations
- Presentation of equipment in materials lab
- Machining demonstrations on six lathes and milling centers
- Presentation of our logistics system ProLog
- Presentation of our schools program – Prametheus
- Tour of training and presentation areas

Tour of pumped storage power plant Dlouhé Stráně
- Departure twice a day, at 09:30am and at 12:00pm by bus from Cutting Days location; return to the same place
- Tour length, including travel, is four hours
- Tour includes:
- Presentation of the power plant
- Presentation of Dormer Pramet segment specific products
- Visit of underground cavern with turbines
- Road trip to the upper dam (if weather is good)
